Brian Mason, General Manager
Brian Mason is General Manager of Southpac Group operations.

Brian is a New Zealand attorney with degrees in history and political science (MA (hons) 1981) and law (LLB 1990). Brian has been an attorney in private practice, although it is his experience and expertise in public affairs that brings depth in this area to Southpac Group.

He has been a Principal Private Secretary to the New Zealand Minister for Health, Internal Affairs, & Local Government.

More recently, he was an advisor to the Prime Minister of the Cook Islands. During this period, a far-reaching program of financial reform was initiated by the Cook Islands Government, including the establishment of the then Office of the Commissioner for Offshore Financial Services (now replaced by the Financial Supervisory Commission). Other important legislation effecting the offshore financial industry was passed by Parliament. Brian has written a number of articles on industry matters.

Brian progressed from Legal Counsel to General Counsel before assuming his present role. During his five years with Southpac, Brian has demonstrated both a personal and professional appreciation of client matters and the ready ability to add real value to the process, that has earned wide respect.


Leanne Corvette, General Counsel, TEP
Leanne Corvette serves as General Counsel for Southpac Group operations and has served from the Rarotonga (Cook Islands) office of Southpac since 1994.

Leanne obtained her degree in laws from the University of Auckland, New Zealand in 1990 and worked in civil litigation prior to joining Southpac. Leanne is a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Courts of New Zealand and the Cook Islands.



Scott Howley, Finance Manager
Scott has been a Chartered Accountant with the NZ Institute (NZICA) since 1996.

Since then Scott has worked as Financial Controller for a number of entities, all multinationals. Prior to joining Southpac he spent 4 years as Financial Controller at FMG, a NZ-owned company offering general and life insurance products as well as finance and investment advisory services. FMG also offered insurance products in Australia, with total Group revenues well in excess of $100m.

Scott manages all accounting, finance, and treasury operations for Southpac Group.
