About Our Company
Southpac helped to create the modern offshore asset protection trust.
Southpac Trust Limited was formed in 1982 and is the original home of modern asset protection trusts. In 1989, Southpac helped create the world’s first asset protection trust legislation, the Cook Islands International Trusts Act. Over the past two decades, this legislation has served as the model for asset protection legislation in several other countries, and Southpac’s name has become synonymous with asset protection.
Through its affiliation with Capital Security Bank Limited of the Cook Islands, Southpac clients enjoy a distinct level of access to a wide range of banking and investment services. To learn more about the banking and investment products offered through Capital Security Bank Limited, please visit their website: www.capitalsecuritybank.info.
Taxes are just as important as asset protection. In conjunction with Southpac Life Insurance Limited and International General Insurance (Cook Islands) Limited, Southpac clients are able to procure an array of insurance-based investment products, including variable universal life insurance and annuities. In addition to protecting your assets, an insurance or annuity strategy offers valuable income and estate tax benefits. Southpac Supports a Cook Islands
National Wildlife Park.
The remote atoll of Suwarrow has been declared a national wildlife park under legislation setting up a National Park Authority. An atoll uninhabited except by a caretaker during the sailing season, Suwarrow was named by a Russian navigator after the ship “Suvorov” in 1814. There is evidence though, of much earlier European seafaring activities it is known that Spanish ships crossed the Pacific from 1565 onwards. Coins, including fabled “pieces of eight”, have been discovered, along with other historical relics. Suwarrow was the home of a famous hermit, Tom Neale, who wrote of his 16 years there, and the American writer Robert Frisbie also wrote of his Suwarrow experiences.
Today, modern treasure in the form of unique marine birdlife is being protected against activity that could harm this genuine pearl of the Pacific. Southpac is grateful to have the opportunity to contribute to the Cook Islands natural heritage in a truly meaningful way, one that can be shared by our clients. We have established a Suwarrow Ocean Wildlife Trust Fund to support this effort, and your support is always welcome.
